Blog 4: Interview Prep
1. I plan to interview my mentor Vanessa Gomez tomorrow August 31 afterschool. She is a yoga instructor at a bikram yoga franchise.
2. Is there anything in particular I should start doing before attempting yoga?
What made you want to pursue yoga as a career?
What are some benefits unique to bikram yoga?

Blog 3: ESLR Goals
1. Bikram Yoga
2. This year I will stay on top of homework by turning assignments in on time, make sure all group members are on the same page before dividing work, keep written assignments on google drive to avoid compatibility issues/be able to work from anywhere and to be able to complete assignments without having someone walk me through step by step.

Blog 2: Summer Mentorship
1. 10 hours of extremely exhausting work. Sunday, August 11, 2013. Setting up chairs and ring boundaries, received judging credentials, judged assorted divisions, put away chairs and took down ring boundaries.
2. Ned Reber 909.948.1777 or 909.803.2777
3. What happens to judges who were assigned rings but did not check in on time or did not check in at all?
Why must judges adjust scores using standard deviation?
How can it be sure that a judge is being fair?
Does the standard deviation really eliminate bias?
Is the new IPad scoring system more effective?
4. I feel like I've earned a new respect for tournament officials. It is a lot of work to keep everything running smoothly and on time. The most important thing I've learned is the unique scoring method. Instead of scoring competitors in a scale of 1-10 they are ranked from 1st to last place and scored accordingly by 3 judges. This prevents ties and can help a competitors confidence being scored like this instead of being rated on how close they are to perfection.
5. After this ordeal, I doubt that I will pick sport karate as my senior topic. It's such a broad topic and difficult to explain and come up with a good essential question for.
